"dominique brown"... "da-mont fipps"... and " tommy zolli-coffer" all face charges of first-degree reckless homicide. this shooting happened near 26th 39-year-old kealicia clark-- died -- and another man was sent to the hospital.prosecutor s say the suspects were trying to get revenge from an earlier homicide. fipps and zolli-coffer are both in custody -- but brown remains on the run -- and a warrant is out for his arrest. milwaukee city leaders will be announcing a new million dollar grant today to improve public safety and create stronger neighborhoods.

prevention will get the grant. milwaukee is one of eight cities nationwide to get the award from the substance abuse and mental health services administration. we're expected to learn more at news conference scheduled to take place in about a half hour. ...two cars stolen from the same place just one day apart. the victims are neighbors. monday morning-- a maroon chevy impala was stolen from 60th, near capitol. a man woke up to find his car was gone. the next day, the same thing happened to the ma's she came outside to find her brown chevy impala was stolen on tuesday morning. it had been parked near a garage at 60th and capitol. the neighbors say they are stunned by the boldness of the criminals. i hope that is can be found and im hoping that we can, the city of milwaukee, put a stop to these car thieves. it may have just been a coincidence both had impalas stolen. police say there weren't any other reports of impalas stolen

but, so far this year, more than 800 vehicles have been stolen from district 7 alone. state lawmakers voted yesterday to approve an audit of the wisconsin veterans home at king...just outside of waupaca. there have been allegations about mistreatment of residents and improper use ...or non-use...of money. our a.j. bayatpour has the latest. if theres things that need to be tuned up, well tune them up. department of veterans affairs says he welcomes the audit. john scocos sko-kiss says the veterans home at king is well-run....claiming hes yet to see any proof of mistreatment at the home.this amid claims of broken bones, spreading infections, and improper use of money. our investigators were out there from dhs and our star ratings are 5 and 4. none of the concerns have been substantiated as of yesterday. one of the lawmakers calling for the audit, republican senator luther olsen, says he got

decades behind bars, after prosecutors say she provided a fatal dose of heroin to a salem man. elizabeth cooper has been charged with first degree reckless homicide for the death of 31-year-old christopher sta-chura stachura.stachura was found dead in his mother's garage from an overdose in july. prosecutors say cooper admitted to giving him the drugs. both the d-a and law enforcement agencies say they are trying to send a message-- by charging suppliers with reckless homicide. someone received heroine from. we are going to do our best to charge that person." cooper is the third person this year to face a reckless homicide charge for an overdose in kenosha county. it's called a battleground state for a reason. the latest marquette law school poll shows the presidential race getting even tighter in wisconsin. fox6's rachelle

marquette law school's latest poll shows hillary clinton dropping one point among likely voters from the previous poll in august..... while donald trump stayed the same in a head- to-head matchup between the two. that put clinton at 44 percent and trump at 42 percent. wednesday's poll release comes just days before the first debate between the two. "let's tune in again after the debate to see where people shift and whether we get more dramatic we've seen over the last six weeks." the director of the m-u law school poll, charles franklin, says the nationally televised debate may prompt voters to change their minds....or reinforce their opinions. "that debate will be very hard to ignore." when including libertarian candidate gary johnson and green party candidate jill stein in the mix, the latest poll found that 41 percent of likely voters backed clinton, 38 percent chose trump, johnson took home 11 percent and stein two. in the

the first few weeks of a newborn's life are incredibly important in the child's development. some local hospitals have a special program to help parents during those stressful times. fox6's carl deffenbaugh introduces you to a therapy -- and a family -- that were "born to be." theres rarely any downtime in the reed household. two working

things on track. "its insane. its insane. but, like, a fun insane. i wouldnt trade it for the world." but its worth taking a moment, if they can ever spare one, to reflect on just how this crazy combination of a family came together. "its been a wild ride, but just so much fun." in - a lawyer by trade - began working at community memorial hospital. in her spare time, shed head up to the birth center to help the nurses with newborn babies. "it was awesome to get up there. you can hold them and love on them, sometimes feed them." and from there, came an idea. other hospitals around the country, including childrens in milwaukee, had cuddler programs, where volunteers hold babies that have extended hospital stays. "sometimes in can be three or four babies who are in the

program at community memorial, and that quickly spread to another hospital in the froedtert system, st. josephs. an army of volunteers, operating one gentle rock at a time. "professional cuddler. well i think its kind of a fun name." "its very soft and cozy, which is really the way we try to take care of our babies." whatever the medical reason, when a newborn has to stay in the hospital for a long time, the volunteer cuddlers give parents a necessary break. "sometimes weve had patients that actuall a would be able to come in for two hours so i can run home, do a load of laundry, feed my other kids and then come back." "when babies are held, their heart rates are more steady, their respiratory rates - how fast they breath - are more steady. holding a baby skin to skin even regulates their blood sugar." the volunteers are specially trained, and always under the watchful eye of a nurse. they come from all walks of life, from retired grandparents to

zielinski - a marquette sophomore who has always wanted to be a nurse. "doing this direct patient contact has really solidified it for sure. and then it kind of steered me towards what i want to do, what i want to specialize in, which i think is womens health." back in the reed house, this familys story only gets more remarkable. after seeing numerous children at her hospital enter foster care, michelle and her husband shane decided to become foster parents. "we could totally do that. we coul help a baby here." and in february 2014, twin girls joined the reeds two biological children. "learned pretty quickly i was a failure as a foster mother. i was not one who would be able to let go. and so, as luck would have it, i get to cuddle them forever." by december of that year, they officially adopted addisyn and

through her new daughters' medical records. and buried among the thousands of pieces of paper was one startling nugget of information - addisyn and abygail were also cuddled when they were in the hospital. "i sat there and cried for quite a bit. ... but just awesome to see that they were held and they were loved, even if it wasnt by us - by somebody else." today they are healthy, rambunctious three-year-olds. and michelle finds herself benefiting from the same type of program she so crazy blessed. all because i sat in a room in a rocking chair and held babies." carl deffenbaugh, fox6 news. as you might imagine, these positions are in high demand -- in fact st. joseph's, and children's hospital, have a waiting list or are at capacity. but volunteers are always needed for other services as well, if you'd like to help out. it's time to get ready for fall
